I was mostly impressed with all the forms and paperwork they provide for easy to understand, easy to follow use, by both seller and buyer. The great convenience is also that you determine and control access for people to look through your house when it suits you and them, not when it suits the real estate.

I found real estate agents can be pushy and deceptive and only give you the information you need at the time of contact, leaving out the things written in small print. It's obvious they are trying to sell to make money for themselves - I will never use them again.

We could see that selling privately was a great option by saving heaps in fees, but most appealling to us was the total control of who was coming into the house & when we decided to open & take offers.

With all the above considered we decided it was the way to go but felt our expertise in this field limited so with this in mind we contacted GoPrivate. From our very first contact with them everything ran smoothly, the process was relevant & invaluable. Nothing was left unexplained & the support which was offered gave us confidence that if something did go 'pear shaped' we had back-up all the way. Don't believe the old chestnut 'I am too busy to sell myself', we found we still had to have the house spick & span for inspection but the best part is you also have a one-on-one communication with potential buyers without the middle-man bringing in unrealistic offers for you to consider which takes up time & makes the whole process stressful & longer. We found we had less communication & people bothering us ie agents than we ever had previously. If you do your homework in pricing & presenting the property you will sell...we did, in 4 weeks!!

We were very happy and impressed with the service provided to us by GoPrivate in Rockingham. Everyone we talked or dealt with were extremely helpful and friendly.

The free appraisal was terrific and enabled us to be confident in our chosen selling price. We were also told of helpful hints during the appraisal to make our property more appealing to potential customers.

Due to the very low fees we paid to GoPrivate in selling our house we were able to price our house in a price range which was very attractive to buyers and therefore sold our house after the first home open! We didn't have to worry about paying an exorbitant agent's fee.

What a great way to sell. We sold 3 houses in 3 years this way. The longest took 6 weeks.

HINTS: Do stringent market research, look at local prices. Go and look at builder's displays - that is how your house should be presented. No photos, no towels, no kettle/toaster on show, not even soap!! Get rid of all the clutter, pack and store it. You are moving anyway! Right? Have your house open 2.5 - 3.5 hours each Sunday.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

We liked the unique concept of 'GoPrivate', allowing the owner to set their own price, open home times to suit the owner and the buyer, not the odd half an hour per week as with an Estate Agent, as is the norm. The advice we were given by 'GoPrivate' when we signed up with them, proved to be very useful, as it is at the time a very depressed market, the advice was to set a realistic price, get in front of the market, don't chase a falling price, (as I have seen many homes in our area do this and are still unsold), and have the home open at weekends for maximum viewing coverage.

After being with a large Estate Agent for 3 wasted months, the house was overpriced to cover the agent's massive fees, plus the bargaining mark up. Over the three months only two buyers looked over the house with no offers on the house, the agent did not have one home open during the three months, typical agent too many homes on their books to service that amount of clients. We found it very satisfying meeting prospective buyers face to face and able to talk to and negotiate directly with the client, not wasting time running back and forth with offers and counter offers.

With GoPrivate's fees we were able to offer our house at a realistic figure, have an open home all weekend, many of the buyers were attracted by the Home Private signs we put out, plus others from the advertising. The first weekend we opened we had four times as many prospective buyers than we had using the agent over three months. After a month we had the home under offer, it's now sold. The amount of prospective buyers we had through our home in one month was incredible when compared to our previous attempt to sell our home.

My advice to any prospective seller would be to use 'GoPrivate' sooner not later as we did, after trying to use an estate agent and wasting valuable time.
